Edward K. Fujita

Dr. Edward K. Fujita
Deputy Division Director,
Nuclear Engineering Division

Dr. Edward Fujita is Deputy Director of Argonne’s Nuclear Engineering Division and is responsible for assisting the Division Director in the research on advanced nuclear reactor systems and nuclear non-proliferation. He is also responsible for technical and programmatic leadership in the area of nuclear criticality safety, waste form & geologic repository analysis, and Nuclear Facility Operations. He has worked at Argonne since 1978 and became a senior scientist in 1996. He has a BS from NYU (1974), NE from MIT (1976) and Sc.D. from MIT (1978) in the discipline of Nuclear Engineering. Dr. Fujita was awarded the University of Chicago Distinguished Performance Award in 1995.

 

Dr. Fujita leads the ANL’s involvement in the analysis, experimental and design supports of the former ANL-W (now INL-M&FC) pyrometallurgical processing activities. He is currently a US representative to the NEA/OECD Working Party on Nuclear Criticality Safety. His technical background is in nuclear-reactor physics, core design, fuel cycle analysis and nuclear criticality safety.
