Dr. Jeffrey M. Seisler (Trainer)

Dr. Jeffrey M. Seisler is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Clean Fuels Consulting with offices in Brussels, Belgium and Washington, D.C. Clean Fuels Consulting is a private company whose mission is to facilitate the commercialization of clean fuels and technologies. Clean Fuels Consulting began in 2004 and the Brussels office was opened in October 2007.

Marcy Rood Werpy (Trainer)

Ms. Rood Werpy is a principal environmental transportation analyst at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) and provides support to DOE’s Clean Cities Program—a public-private partnership program to accelerate the use of alternative fuels, advanced technology vehicles, and petroleum reduction practices— and related activities. She leads a team of ANL technical experts in the areas of electric drive, natural gas, and propane vehicles, renewable natural gas, idle-reduction technologies, and emissions and greenhouse gas modeling, providing research, analysis, training, and communication products to the Clean Cities network.

About the Clean Cities Program:

Clean Cities is a government-industry partnership sponsored by DOE’s Vehicle Technologies Program, which is part of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Working with its network of about 100 local coalitions and more than 8,400 stakeholders across the country, Clean Cities delivers on its mission to reduce petroleum consumption in on-road transportation. In its work to reduce petroleum use, Clean Cities focuses on a portfolio of technologies that includes electric drive, propane, natural gas, renewable natural gas/biomethane, ethanol/E85, biodiesel/B20 and higher-level blends, fuel economy, and idle reduction. Over the past 17 years, Clean Cities coalitions have displaced more than 2.4 billion gallons of petroleum; they are on track to displace 2.5 billion gallons of gasoline per year by 2020. [More...]

Dr.-Ing. Stefan Behrning (Trainer)

Dr. Behrning is the Executive Head of the Department for Alternative Fuels, TÜV Saarland automobil GmbH. He has a ministerial certification as a governmentally authorized technical expert according to § 14 of the German law for equipment safety.

Assylbek Battalkhanov (Speaker)

Mr. Battalkhanov graduated from the Kazakh State Academy of Administration with a dual-degree in Management and Marketing. In 2009, he finalized his studies at the Engineering-Economics Institute and graduated with specialization in technical legal studies. In 1998, Mr. Battalkhanov was employed by Almaty Regional Economics Committee as a Lead Specialist until 1999. From 1999 to 2003, he was hired by a stock-company (Almaty Inter Gas) to be Chief of Regional Gas Supply Authority. Then in 2004, he became Head of Gas Transportation Department in the Ministry of Energy, Mineral Resources. In 2006, Mr. Battalkhanov transferred to the Secretary of Integration Committee of Eurasian Economic Community as a Lead Expert. From 2007 to 2009, he was the Managing Director at Limited Liability Partnership “ENBEK”, and since 2010 he is Deputy General Director at KazTransGas Onimderi.

Bernard Eyre (Speaker)

Mr. Bernard Eyre spent the early part of his career developing business opportunities in the aerospace industry based in the United Kingdom (UK), engaging with defence ministries, government agencies and airlines around the world. Following on from this he joined a newly privatized water and wastewater utility in central England and was responsible for expanding its overseas activities, which led to many successful business ventures in Europe, the Caribbean, and North America. In 1997, Mr. Eyre joined British Gas (BG) International as an International Business Manager in South America, developing BG’s interests in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Bolivia, and Brazil where he served as a director on the Board of Comgas, the largest gas distribution company in the region which had been recently privatized. Mr. Eyre returned to the UK last year and has recently moved to Astana to take up the role of Commercial Manager for BG Kazakhstan
Mr. Eyre’s career in business development spans over 30 years and he has gained wide experience in developing commercial strategies across many sectors of the natural gas industry, focusing primarily on the downstream sector.

Stanislav Kim (Speaker)

Since the late 90’s, Mr. Kim has been GIS operator in the NGO “Institute of Ecology and Sustainable Development” and National Expert on Databases and Information in the frame of Caspian Environmental Program. Shortly after being appointed as Project Assistant in UNDP/GEF Project “In-situ Conservation of Kazakhstan’s Mountain Agrobiodiversity in Kazakhstan”, Mr. Kim began serving as a Senior Program Assistant in UNDP Kazakhstan, Environment Management for Sustainable Development Unit and National Coordinator of GEF Small Grants Program . Since 2010 Mr. Kim has served as Head of Energy and Environment Department at UNDP Kazakhstan.

Kirk D. Livingston (Speaker)

In 2007, Mr. Livingston became Senior Vice President for International Business Development in Headquarter and CEO of IMW Compressor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a wholly foreign owned company in China, where he set up the sales and service network within Asian Pacific region and is also responsible for international service development. Mr. Livingston has more than thirty years of experience in corporate management and over a decade of working experience in Asia.
