Christopher Grandy has over 23 years of experience in nuclear-related technical areas such as nuclear reactor operations, waste treatment system development, and research, development, and design of advanced reactor structures, systems, and components. His experience has been gained through a wide range of engineering and management assignments at Argonne National Laboratory and in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. He has qualified as a nuclear propulsion officer on two nuclear-powered guided missile cruisers, and operated three different types of nuclear power propulsion reactors for the U.S. surface fleet. In addition, he is qualified by U.S. Naval Reactors as chief engineer. At Argonne National Laboratory he managed the waste operations including four nuclear facilities and recently has been leading engineering efforts for advanced reactor systems and component technology development. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a graduate of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program technical and plant operations course.
