Second Announcement

This is the second announcement of the Workshop on “Decay Spectroscopy at CARIBU: Advanced Fuel Cycle Applications, Nuclear Structure and Astrophysics”, to be held at Argonne National Laboratory, April 14-16, 2011.

The aim of the workshop is to discuss opportunities for decay studies at CARIBU with emphasis on advanced fuel cycle applications, nuclear structure and astrophysics research. The workshop will begin Thursday and end by noon on Saturday. The meeting will consist of review presentations and contributed talks. The list of invited speakers includes:

A. Algora (Valencia), P. Fierlinger (Munich), R. Hill (Argonne), K. Lister (Argonne), P. Möller (Los Alamos), F. Montes (MSU), A. L. Nichols (Univ. of Surrey), B. Rubio (Valencia), K. Rykaczewski (Oak Ridge), W. Schier (Lowell), N. Scielzo (Livermore) and J. Tain (Valencia).

Contributions by members of the local groups, outlining the status of various projects at CARIBU, will be also presented. Time will be allocated on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning for short (10-15 min) contributed talks, where ideas for future experiments at the CARIBU decay station and needed equipment will be discussed, together with experimental results produced from similar facilities elsewhere. Please notify the organizers if you would like to give a presentation at the meeting by providing a short abstract.

The registration deadline for the workshop is March 30, 2011, but we encourage you to register earlier so that we can assess the attendance and develop the scientific program. Information about the registration, accommodation and other logistics is provided at this web site.
