June 27, 2017
Argonne nuclear engineer Florent Heidet has been honored by the American Nuclear Society's (ANS) Reactor Physics Division (RPD) with the 2017 Early Career Reactor Physicist Award.
The award was presented to Dr. Heidet for his significant contributions to research in the field of fast reactor physics, in particular with respect to the long-life breed-and-burn fast reactor concept. He accepted the award during the 2017 ANS Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA in June, where he presented a talk entitled "The Neutron Chase: Taking Advantage of Every Neutron."
The ANS Early Career Reactor Physicist Award was established in 2013 to recognize early career members of the RPD who have made significant contributions in the field of reactor physics. Dr. Heidet is the first recipient of this award. The Nuclear Engineering Division of Argonne National Laboratory congratulates Dr. Heidet on this distinguished achievement.
